How to Change an ID Photo Background Online: Remove Background, Add Color and Crop

Recently I needed to submit a document that required a red-background ID photo. The only photo I had was on a white background, and the nearest photo studio was not close. So I wondered: if the only problem is the background color, can I fix it myself?

After trying a few options, the answer was yes. No paid software, no app download, no studio trip. Here is the quick workflow.

First, cut the person out of the original background

Changing an ID photo background is basically this: remove the old background, keep the person, then place the portrait on the required color.
